Upgrade Key Manager on Linux

Key Manager supports upgrades through replacing the older binary with the newer release on each cluster host. You can then restart the cluster to bring up all nodes with the new version.

Review and complete all prerequisites before proceeding.

Procedure

  1. Make a backup of the current state of your Key Manager cluster.

    minkms backup

  2. Download the new Key Manager binary and replace the old binary.

Do this for each node in the Key Manager cluster.

Select the tab corresponding to your OS/Architecture combination. The displayed commands download the latest Key Manager binary, set it to executable, and move it into the system path at /usr/local/bin. If you installed Key Manager at another location, replace /usr/local/bin with the path of the existing Key Manager binary. You may need sudo for one or more of the commands.

  3. Restart Key Manager.

    minkms restart

  4. Verify all nodes show the expected version.
